Which office are you seeking? Please include the office's full title, including district number, and the state where you are running.

Minnesota House of Representatives District 36A

10

Why are you running for this office?

I feel that our current political system is lacking the perspective of young adults and for too long, politicians have been quick to over-promise and under-perform. If we want to change how our state policies are crafted, we have to change who we send to work on our behalf. I am a firm believer that the government must adhere to limiting principles but also be responsive to the concerns of those who elected them. Putting public service over politics as usual would benefit the communities we aim to represent, calm the waters of performative partisan division, and nurture the notion that true leadership comes from one's ability to facilitate solutions and remain principled to their core values simultaneously.

11

What issues are most important to you?

1) Public Safety- Minnesotans are facing a record-breaking wave of crime that is putting our families and business community at risk; all while drastically lessening the revenue and prosperity associated with our urban hubs. Minnesotans deserve to be safe in their communities and the rampant crime coupled with lenient sentencing measures is costing lives.
2) Education That Empowers- Minnesota is amongst the top states in the nation for education funding, yet we are watching as students' reading and math proficiency rates fall to record-lows. I believe that we can address this by advocating for school choice, bringing Parents back to the table in having a say in their child's education, and ensure we adequately thank the many Teachers we are blessed to have, while not cow-towing to the Union Bosses who advocate for bureaucrats in boardrooms over kids in classrooms.

3) Restore Economic Opportunity- Minnesota has watched as thousands of families, entrepreneurs, and senior citizens have fled the state due to the burdensome tax rates. These are self-inflicted wounds, as politicians have created a spending-structure with an insatiable appetite for more money. The state is sitting on a 9.3-billion-dollar budget surplus, yet is demanding more from taxpaying Minnesotans- most of which are living paycheck-to-paycheck. This isn't compassionate or sustainable. I believe it is high-time we reign in Government greed and allow Minnesotans to grow their bank accounts over the state government's.

What makes you a unique candidate for this office?

Many expect my age to be the most "unique" trait about my candidacy- and while it certainly plays a role, I'd say it is my ability to see how policies of the generations before me have (and will) impact the generations to come- for better or worse. Instead of reciting the same old political talking points, we have to be the generation that engages in the tough discussions and tackle the issues we face before they tackle us.

13

Please list all important dates for your candidacy (caucuses, primary, general, filing window - anything that's pertinent)

Endorsed Candidate with no Primary. November 8th General Election. May 31st filing deadline.

14

Is your election partisan? Please describe.

Yes- here in MN the two main parties are the GOP and DFL (democratic party).

15

If you have an affiliation with a party, please describe.

I am the endorsed GOP candidate. I will be running with an (R) next to my name.

16

Describe your biggest challenges at this point.

The biggest challenge is maintaining relationships with past friends and family who believe that I am the embodiment of the politician they despise, simply because we are of the same party. It's frustrating when people who have never spoken to me about my beliefs and values, try to paint me as a monster.

23

What is your occupation (if applicable)?
Public Service/Relations Coordinator at a conservation-based NGO

24

Why do you think you'll win?

Because in an era of "politics as usual", I'm not usual. I am direct yet personable, hard-working and communicate with the voters of the district, and I am a product of the very community I aim to represent. I was not born with a silver-spoon, trust-fund dollars, or come from a political family- instead, I just want to say I tried my best to leave my community better than I found it.

25

Who is your campaign manager? (if applicable) Please list their name, phone, and email

Matt Guenther- 651-261-2683 (email not available at this time)

26

Please describe your campaign staff and/or core supporters - who else is on the team? How are you connected to them? What is their role?

Our volunteers are amazing. We have over 40 campaign staff that coordinate events, perform voter-outreach, door-knock, and phone bank. I couldn't be more blessed to call them my friends. Most all I have met along the way and got involved because they believed in my ideas.

27

Describe any other close friends in your world who may not be involved in the campaign.

My wife, Faith. She keeps me sane and tells me when it is time to stop working...which is hard for me to do at times.

28

What organizations, if any, are assisting you with your campaign?

House Republican Campaign Committee.

29

If you have a clear opponent(s), please list their names and parties (if applicable). Please include likely candidates, even if they haven't yet declared.

None that I'm aware of.
