South Carolina House of Representatives, District 25

I can no longer sit idly by and hope someone will be the change I want to see. We have far too many children being funneled through the school-to-prison pipeline when we should be creating opportunities for them to thrive. Gentrification displaces our families, jobs are hard to find for the average person, and our economy in District 25 is suffering tremendously. I am running for office to continue fighting for the girls and boys whose voices aren’t heard in the classroom. I am running for office for the women and men who struggle to provide for their families every day. I believe District 25 can do better, and with my help, we will do better.

Criminal Justice Reform, fair housing, access to healthcare, raising teacher pay, giving Americans a living wage.

As a child, I was in and out of the juvenile justice system which in reality was the school-to-prison pipeline. I had no idea about a school-to-prison pipeline but I was super close to being in prison as a result of things I did as a child. I'm grateful to God that I was able to turn my life around but there are so many young people who are just like me. But the difference is they don't have the resources; they don't have family members who care about them; they don't have access to attorneys or legal fees and they end up in prison. I want to help change that narrative. I want to share my story of how I overcame the challenges, beat the odds, earned a Ph.D., and am still making a difference.

Yes. The district is 58% Democratic which means if I win the primary, I will win the election in November.

Democrat. I serve as Chief of Staff to the National Black Caucus Chair of the Young Democrats of America. Serve as 1st Vice-Chair of Greenville Young Democrats.

My fundraising goal is $100,000. I've raised a quarter of that but it's hard to raise money in this district because most of the people make less than $50,000 a year and they need their money for household needs.

I have done community work for 15 years. The voters know me and they know that I will fight for them. They know that when they call me, I'm there to help them and that's what this district needs. I've talked to several pastors, elected officials, business persons and community leaders and I feel like I have the support to win.
