Which office are you seeking? Please include the office's full title, including district number, and the state where you are running.

Cameron County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, Texas

10

Why are you running for this office?

I am running for our Cameron County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 office because I believe it is my generation's turn to step up and bring about the change we want to see and implement.

All politics are local politics.

I am running for this office not because I need something to do, but because I know something needs to be done.

I don't believe the current administration has the community's best interest at heart. After a combined 42 years in office (the incumbents father was the JP for 38 years before him), the current administration has become complacent with doing the minimum duties required by the position (if that) and has relied on their name and position to control our community. Plus, I was not a fan of the way the current administration assumed office.

I am a younger individual (28 y/o) with a much different perspective on life as I have moved away from my hometown, experienced life outside of the Rio Grande Valley, and moved back after some time to positively impact my area.

I don't owe anyone any favors nor do they have their hands in my pockets.

I know I am a viable candidate for this position, one who is not afraid to disrupt the status quo and take on these lifetime politicians who only want the position for self interest and not selfless service, for the power of the position and not service to the people.

11

What issues are most important to you?

1. An actual full time working Judge (they get paid full time salaries, they should be working full time hours).
2. Open/ accessible offices and courts for our community.
3. Additional court dates and possibly adding a night court for our community.
4. Adding the use of technology to our courts and online presence to be more easily accessible to our community.
5. Transparency from our JP court and office for our community in terms of availability, budgeting, and continuous educational training to better serve our community.
6. Re-establishing great working relationships with our local law enforcement agencies and offices (enforce the law, we have to uphold to law)

12

What makes you a unique candidate for this office?

I was born and raised in our beautiful town of Port Isabel and Laguna Vista, TX. My parents raised me with the strong values of Faith, Family, and Respect for all.

I am a graduate of Texas A&M University - College Station, a Small business owner, volunteer firefighter with Port Isabel Volunteer Fire Department, a Rotary International Club member, a scholarship/charities founder, Republican Party Precinct 67 Secretary, among other endeavors.

As a small business owner I understand what the necessity of working under a budget that many politicians do not understand themselves.

As a small business owner I also understand the necessity of quality customer service and how to implement high quality customer service to increase the satisfaction of the people we serve who utilize our services.

As a Volunteer Firefighter and Rotary club member, I practice selfless service everyday of my lift and it is a principle that is extremely important to me. I don't know of any judges who will answer to a fire call or any other dispatch call in which the Fire Department is paged out to assist.

I founded a scholarship/charities organization, "Rough Hands, Big Hearts", with which we raise money for scholarships for graduating high school seniors in our hometown of Port Isabel, Texas and also help sponsor local teams and kids for various sports and organizations. We also contribute to raffles and donate to those in need to assist with medical expenses and other contributions.

Positively impacting our community is the driving force and continuous goal of mine.

I will do all I can to earn each and every vote and show my community why I am the best qualified candidate for the position.

I will continue to knock on doors and advocate for being our people's judge.

15

If you have an affiliation with a party, please describe.

I am affiliated with the Republican party, I am the Republican candidate running for this office.

16

Describe your biggest challenges at this point.

My biggest challenges thus far has been garnering public support and financial support.

As I stated earlier, the current administration has been in office for a combined 42 years, the incumbent's father was the JP for 38 years before him.

There are many people who "support" me, yet they believe they cannot publicly do so due to retaliation or fear of their jobs/ cutting ties.

Many do not want to put up yard signs or frequent my business due to this same fact of them believing they cannot publicly support me in fear of being blacklisted.

There are many people who complain about how things need to change yet do not, yet they are scared to support someone who is trying to bring about the change wanted and desperately needed.

Financial support is always a factor in any race, especially as the challenger. People wish to support, yet do not make the attempt to actually do so.
Financially, many people do not want to be seen supporting the challenger (Me) because they do not want the other side to know they do so in fear of retaliation and them not getting the help they need or want.

Also, many are willing to donate thousands to federal or state candidates, but only $25-$100 to local candidates, much of us who directly impact their everyday lives as opposed to federal candidates who will not. Trying to educate people and get them to understand campaigns need funding is also an uphill battle.

What is your occupation (if applicable)?
Small Business Owner/ Entrepreneur

24

Why do you think you'll win?

Our community wants change, and they know we finally have someone who is willing to stand up to bring about the change and represent our community members.

I know I am going to win because I am driven to bring about the positive change I want to implement in my community.

I am a viable candidate who believes in selfless service, sacrifice, and commitment to our community as our next Justice of the Peace.

I believe in the rule of law, I know what is just is not always right and what is right is not always just, and it us up to us to be empathetic when making unbiased judgements based off what is constitutionally stated.

And quite frankly, I believe the Hispanic community is tired of the lies, broken promises and deceit the democratic party has led them to believe for so long. They see that just because we are Hispanic, does not mean we are automatically democrat. Hispanics are waking up and seeing they have a better choice.

25

Who is your campaign manager? (if applicable) Please list their name, phone, and email

I don't have an official campaign manager but if I had to list someone I guess it would be my parents. My mother as she helps me schedule and ensure I have a list of things I need for events and my Father as he helps me with meeting people and raising funds. And of course, they are my biggest supporters.
