Which office are you seeking? Please include the office's full title, including district number, and the state where you are running.

Arizona House of Representatives Legislative District 24

10

Why are you running for this office?

I stepped up to run in part because of frustration with Sen. Kyrsten Sinema who I supported and knocked doors for in 2018. I am tired of corporate greed in politics leading to politicians selling out our communities. I am a born-and-raised Arizonan. I love this state and its people. But often it feels like our elected state leaders do not love us back. For years, I've fought against constant attacks on our civil rights at the state Capitol through my work at the ACLU of Arizona. I organize within my community through my volunteer positions as Vice Chair of the Maricopa County Democrats Latino Outreach Committee, a volunteer clinic escort at Planned Parenthood, and as a board member for Desert Star Institute of Family Planning. I have the experience of successfully pushing forward bipartisan criminal justice legislation and defeating bills that would have infringed upon our right to vote and our right to protest. It's time to take our fight inside the state Capitol. As an auntie to six kids growing up in Arizona, I'm dedicated to building a brighter future. I have the courage and compassion to propose bold ideas and deliver for Arizona families.

11

What issues are most important to you?

I am committed to protecting civil rights, investing in public schools, and tackling rising housing costs.

12

What makes you a unique candidate for this office?

I am a first-time candidate, under 30, and a progressive Democrat refusing to accept corporate PAC money.

13

Please list all important dates for your candidacy (caucuses, primary, general, filing window - anything that's pertinent)

July 6: Early Ballots Mailed
August 2: Primary Election

14

Is your election partisan? Please describe.

Yes, this race will come down to a Democratic primary.

15

If you have an affiliation with a party, please describe.

I am a Progressive Democrat

16

Describe your biggest challenges at this point.

The biggest challenge is the likelihood of Chamber of Commerce money, big utility money, and other corporate interests potentially supporting other Democrats in the primary. We plan to overcome this challenge through small-dollar donations and the power of organizing.

In addition I am:
-The first candidate to officially qualify for the ballot, turning in nearly 1,000 signatures

-Raised more than $30,000 in Q1 as a first-time candidate through individual contributions.
